100 years ago the Representation of the People Act gave some women in Britain the right to vote. Because We Can is an exhibition reflecting on this historical moment, celebrating contemporary work by female and female-identifying photographers around the world.
The show is organized by Shutter Hub in partnership with Festival Pil’Ours and presented as outdoor exhibitions spread throughout the Pays de St Gilles Croix de Vie, France. The photographs are displayed on panels designed as contact sheets.
Festival Pil’ours is an annual international festival of photography showcasing the work of female-identifying photographers. Shutter Hub is a photography organization providing opportunities, support and networking for creative photographers worldwide.
