Between the Leaves and the Sea is a black and white photography series privately commissioned. The project explores the connection between a home and its surrounding nature in Co. Wexford.
Carved out of an old boat shed facing the sea and abandoned for years, the habitation has been recently refurbished for home living. Giant plants gently moving in the local landscape. The sound of the sea. The smell of the wood. The feel of a stone. Drawing inspiration from these elements, I created an imagery where nature and home interiors come together mimicking one another.
Between the Leaves and the Sea was shot with a Yashica 35mm analogue camera and Ilford HP5 Plus film. The photographs were scanned preserving the film negative frame and presented as limited edition prints on Hahnemühle FineArt paper.
