Between the Leaves and the Sea

2018

Between the Leaves and the Sea is a black and white photography series exploring the natural landscape of a fishing village in Co. Wexford, Ireland.

The area where the project is set is largely intact and protected by the National Parks & Wildlife Service as Special Area of Conservation. Giant plants gently move with the wind. Traditional cottages and abandoned houses. Hidden places and the open sea. All these elements come together in a delicate story celebrating the beauty and heritage of the local landscape.

Between the Leaves and the Sea is shot with a 35mm analogue camera. The photographs are scanned preserving part of the film negative frame and presented as limited edition prints. This project was privately commissioned.
